I started with three scents, inspired by my grandchildren—Tru, Legend, and Kacie. A collection carrying their initials, TLK, and a part of my heart. Each scent told a story, each flame carrying a piece of our family’s love.
An idea sparked in my mind: I had always been passionate about wellness, which led me to become a certified CBD distributor. Alongside this, I had a knack for crafting candles. Then it struck me—what if I could create something beautiful out of my sorrow? I envisioned a line of candles that would offer a sanctuary for those who were grieving.
As I sat in my cozy corner, surrounded by shelves of journals and stacks of candles, each one holding a story of its own, I felt a deep connection to my own writings. My memoir, A Sound Mind: The Rebirth, filled with raw emotion and wisdom, served as the foundation for these creative prompts. By sharing my story openly, I hoped that my vulnerability would inspire others to find their own paths to holistic healing. There is a way to find light and healing, even in the darkest of times.
On the night of Tru’s 9th birthday, July 8, 2024, as I sat in reflection, a deep sense of gratitude came over me. Though the pain will never fully fade, it has evolved, with renewed purpose, into something beautiful and powerful. The name Maliyah, often associated with calm and peace, felt especially fitting as I lit a candle in honor of Tru Maliyah. Though her life was brief, it sparked a journey of transformation, leaving behind a legacy of light and love that will continue to shine for generations.
One of those scents, Tru’s, found its way to her daddy—a moment so special, it felt like fate.
Then came another profound moment. I guess TJ wanted his own scent too. On August 10, 2024, at 8:47 PM, TJ was pronounced brain dead. That’s when TJ Legacy 5 was born.
Even midway through production, each candle already reflected a profound significance, turning simple moments into opportunities for storytelling, remembering, cherishing, and connection. This collection creates waves of empathy and awareness, addressing disconnection while championing the transformative power of generosity.
TJ’s name will forever be associated with life—both the one he lived and the many he changed.
A collection of five massage candles represents the five lives forever changed through his gift. Each name ties into the life-sustaining qualities of the organs donated, ensuring that his legacy of love and healing continues to burn brightly, just like the flames of these candles.
Terrence Joshua who we affectionately call TJ, death is a tragedy shrouded in suspicion. The media was quick to report “a murder-suicide” those closest to TJ knew something didn’t add up. TJ is a kind, loving, cool dude and lived to help others.
While I was still in Dallas on FaceTime (video chat) with the surgeon declared that “the wound was not self inflicted that TJ was shot in the back of his head at close range” in Woodridge, IL. the occurrence took place in TJ’s apartment where he lived with his roommate one of the victims.
Despite the headlines, refusing to let TJ name be tarnished.
TJ s’ death will not be in vain! God will get the glory! “they” don’t get to end his story.
TJ donated his organs through Gift of Hope organ and tissue network and body to science care program supporting medical advancement that improve the lives of future generations.
A decision made long before the accusations and turmoil. While The police investigation only deepened the mystery, and the truth would take months, possibly years, to unravel. not focusing on defending TJ we choose to depend on God . TJ, in death, could still help others.

Five individuals, strangers to TJ, were given a second chance at life because of my life.
A male in his 40s received his liver, A female in her 60s received his kidney, his right lung went to female in her 70s, left lung to male in his 70s, his heart went a male in his 60s.
All carry pieces of TJ with them. His organs, his gift, had given five individuals a better quality of life and restored hope to five families.
TJ’s legacy isn’t about the accusations, nor the cloud of grief surrounding his death. TJ Legacy 5 is a testament to a kind soul who gave selflessly in life and death. TJ name would forever be associated with life both the one he lived and the many he impacted.
TJ’s story didn’t end—it multiplied.
